A Space to Heal
Therapy servicing Northwest Ohio & Online Across Ohio
Thoughtful guidance to help you navigate life’s challenges at your own pace.
Life can feel overwhelming when challenges begin to stack up, making it difficult to feel grounded and in control. If your usual ways of coping aren’t working like they used to, therapy can provide the support you need.
Theresa M. Cukierski, LPCC-S provides compassionate, personalized care for adult individuals navigating anxiety, depression, stress, and relationships. Sessions are available in person in Maumee, Ohio and online throughout Ohio.
Therapy doesn’t have to feel clinical or impersonal.
Sessions take place in a remodeled home-turned-office designed to feel warm, private, and comfortable. You’ll have access to a quiet, grassy outdoor space—offering a place to pause, reflect, and reset.
This environment is intentionally created to help you feel at ease and supported throughout the process.
Frequently asked questions
Have questions but not sure where to start?
Many common questions about insurance, fees, cancellations, confidentiality, and practice policies are answered throughout the website. For more detailed information, please visit the Counseling Fees & Insurance page and the Practice Policies & Intake Forms page. You are also welcome to contact me directly through this website or by phone. I will be happy to answer any questions or clarify any information.
What happens during the first therapy session?
The first 2–4 sessions are a chance to get to know you at your own pace. We’ll talk about what brings you in, what you’ve been experiencing, and what you’d like to work toward.
You’re welcome to share as much or as little as you are comfortable with.
We will also review important information such as confidentiality, policies, and answer any questions you may have. This session is a starting point for understanding your needs and beginning to develop goals for our work together.
Do you offer couples or family therapy?
I offer individual therapy focused on relationship and communication concerns. This work can help you understand patterns, improve communication, set healthy boundaries, and build more fulfilling connections.
While I do not offer family or couples counseling, Individual therapy can still be a meaningful way to explore relationship challenges and create lasting change.
What if I meet with you and I decide we are not a good fit?
A strong connection with your therapist is an important part of effective treatment, and it’s valuable to recognize and advocate for what feels right for you. Any feedback will be received with respect and in support of your needs. I am happy to assist with referrals or help you connect with another therapist who may be a better fit.
In some cases, I may also determine that a referral is appropriate if your needs fall outside my scope of practice, if therapy is no longer providing benefit, or in situations involving non-payment of services.
